Selecting the method for connecting to the machine

See "Attention (Connecting Your Computer to the Machine)" before connecting.

Select from the following three methods, depending on your environment and devices.

NOTE
Connect your computer both over the network and via a USB cable The USB connection and network connection (wired LAN or wireless LAN) can be combined however, wired LAN and wireless LAN cannot. The router, access points and other devices If you are not sure whether the router or access point you are using supports wireless LAN or wired LAN, see the instruction manual provided with the network device you are using, or contact the manufacturer.

USB connection

Connect using a USB cable.

The machine does not come with a USB cable. Have cables ready as needed.

Follow the steps in the procedure below.

Wireless LAN (MF5950dw only)

Connect using wireless communication (radio frequency) without using a cable.

NOTE
Required devices A wireless LAN or access point that supports IEEE802.11 (b/g or n) is required. If you are not sure if the component supports IEEE802.11, see the instruction manual provided with the device or contact the manufacturer.

Wired LAN

Connect using a LAN cable.
