You cannot print or send a fax from an SMB/CIFS network.

To print with the Mac OS X Classic environment, you need to use a PS printer driver provided by Apple Inc. with the Mac OS, via an AppleTalk network.
If you are using a Macintosh, you cannot use the PCL printer driver.
If you are using the UFR II printer driver or PS printer driver in a Macintosh environment, you cannot print documents via an AppleTalk network.
If you are using a Macintosh, you can send faxes only when you are connected via USB or you are connected to a TCP/IP network. For instructions on using the fax driver for Macintosh, see "Sending a Fax from a Computer (Mac OS)."
The machine does not support Macintosh LocalTalk networks.
