Recommended Solutions When Paper Jams Occur Frequently

Paper
Check that no jammed paper fragments remain in the machine.
If you are performing 2-sided printing with [Plain L] or [Plain L2] selected, try the following settings in order.
|
Specify [Plain L2] if the paper type is set to [Plain L]
Return the paper type to [Plain L] and enable [Use Plain L 2-sided Adjustment Mode] in the Printer Status Window
[Options] [Device Settings] [Assisting Print Settings] Select the [Use Plain L 2-sided Adjustment Mode] check box
With [Use Plain L 2-sided Adjustment Mode] enabled, set the paper type to [Plain L2].
With [Use Plain L 2-sided Adjustment Mode] enabled, the printing speed will be slower.
|
If you are performing 1-sided printing with [Plain L] or [Plain L2] selected, change the setting for [Plain L Adjustment Mode] in the Printer Status Window. Normally, [Mode 1] is selected for automatic adjustment, but you can change the setting to suit your environment. The improvement effect is stronger with [Mode 3] than with [Mode 2].
If a paper jam occurs during printing on the back side of an already printed paper (manual 2-sided printing), select the [Print on the Other Side] check box in the [Paper Source] tab of the printer driver.
Paper jams may occur when the difference in length between the actually loaded paper and the print data is 40 mm or more. Check whether the loaded paper is appropriate for the print data.
|
When removing the jammed paper, do not turn OFF the machine
Turning OFF the machine deletes the data that is being printed.
If paper tears
Remove all the paper fragments to prevent them from becoming jammed.
Do not forcibly remove jammed paper from the machine
Forcibly removing the paper may damage parts in the machine. If you are not able to remove the paper, contact your local authorized Canon dealer or the Canon help line. When a Problem Cannot Be Solved
