Relocating the Machine

The machine is heavy. To avoid injury, be sure to follow the procedure below when moving the machine. Also be sure to read the safety instructions before you begin. Important Safety Instructions

Turn OFF the machine and computer.
When you turn OFF the machine, data that is waiting to be printed is deleted.

Disconnect the cables and cord from the machine in numerical order as in the illustration below.
Whether or not a LAN cable () and USB cable () are connected depends on your environment.

If you will be transporting the machine across a long distance, remove the toner cartridge. How to Replace Toner Cartridges

Pull out the paper drawer until it stops, then raise its side facing you and remove it out of the machine.

When an optional duplex unit is set in the machine, pull out it until it stops, then raise its side facing you and remove it out of the machine.

First close everything that is open if any, including the front cover and the multi-purpose tray, then transport the machine to a new location.
Use the lift handles on both sides of the machine, and always have at least two people carry it.
When an optional paper feeder is installed
Unlock the paper feeder from the machine before lifting the machine, and transport the machine and the paper feeder separately.

Carefully place the machine at its new location.
