Printing/Saving Documents to USB Memory
You can save documents scanned with the machine to USB memory (memory media) connected to the USB port of the machine. You can also print the saved files from the machine.

You can save and print data without using a computer
Even in environments without a computer, you can save scanned data to memory media and print the data on the memory media.
Document management using generic data formats
You can perform document management by converting document data scanned with the machine into file formats (PDF, JPEG, or TIFF) that can be used on a computer.

To print documents in the PDF format from USB memory, the Direct Print Kit (for PDF/XPS) is required.

This section describes the procedure for scanning a document, saving it to memory media, and then printing the data from the memory media.

Preparations for Using Memory Media
1.
Follow the procedure below to set [Memory Media] to 'On'.
Press
(Settings/Registration).
Press [Preferences] → [Display Settings] → [Store Location Display Settings].
Select [On] for [Memory Media] → press [OK].

Follow the procedure below to set [Use MEAP Driver for External USB Device] to 'Off'.
Press
(Settings/Registration).
Press [Preferences] → [External Interface] → [USB Settings].
Press [Use MEAP Driver for External USB Device].
Select [Off] → press [OK].
The preparations for using memory media are completed.
Inserting the Memory Media
3.
Insert the USB memory into the USB port on the right side of the control panel of the machine.
Before inserting the memory media, make sure that the memory media is facing the correct direction.
A message indicating that the memory media is connected and the removal button
are displayed on the touch panel display.
Storing Originals into Memory Media

Place your originals.

Press [Scan and Store].

If the Main Menu screen is not displayed, press (Main Menu).

Press [Memory Media] → select the desired memory media.

Press [Scan].
8.
Press [File Format] → select the file formant → press [OK].

Follow the procedure below to enter the name for the file.
Press [File Name].
Enter a name for the file → press [OK].

Press
(Start).
When scanning is complete, the scanned data is stored in the selected memory media.
Printing Files Stored in Memory Media
11.
Insert the USB memory into the USB port on the right side of the control panel of the machine.
Before inserting the memory media, make sure that the memory media is facing the correct direction.
A message indicating that the memory media is connected and the removal button
are displayed on the touch panel display.

Press [Access Stored Files].

If the Main Menu screen is not displayed, press (Main Menu).

Press [Memory Media] → select the desired memory media.
14.
Browse to the level (folder) where the file you want to print is stored.
15.
Select the file that you want to print → press [Print].
16.
Press [Start Printing].
The file stored in memory media is printed.
Removing the Memory Media

Press

Select the memory media to remove → press [Remove].
19.
Press [OK].
If the message indicating it is OK to remove the memory media is not displayed, repeat steps 18 and 19.
20.
Remove the memory media from the USB port.
21.
Press [OK].

The Multimedia Reader/Writer-A2 enables you to use the external memory media. If the Multimedia Reader/Writer-A2 is attached, you can use the SD card, Memory Stick, CF card, and Microdrive.
