Specifying Various Send Settings

Setting the File Format

You can select PDF, XPS, JPEG, or TIFF as the file format to send a document in.

Trace & Smooth*

This mode enables you to send the text portions of your original as a PDF file with scalable outline data.

Compact PDF or XPS

This mode enables you to send a scanned document as a compact PDF or XPS file to keep the file size down.

Searchable PDF/XPS*

This mode enables you to send a scanned document as a PDF or XPS file, with the text portions embedded as searchable text data.

Adding a Digital Signature to a PDF or XPS*

You can create PDF or XPS files with the following types of digital signatures:
Device Signature
This mode uses the device signature certificate and key pair inside the machine to add a digital signature to the document. The recipient can use this signature to verify the device that signed the document, and whether the document has been changed after it was signed.
This mode is for a PDF and XPS file.
User Signature
This mode uses SSO-H login information about the current user and the user signature certificate and key pair inside the machine to add a digital signature to the file. The recipient can verify the user that signed the file, and whether the file has been changed after it was signed.
This mode is for a PDF and XPS file.
Visible Signatures
This mode displays a visible signature on the PDF when it is viewed. The recipient can then easily see that the file has a digital signature. You can also check the detailed signature information from the Properties of the signature. In addition, you can decide the position of the visible signature displayed on the PDF file.
This mode is for a PDF file only.

Encrypting PDF Files*

You can set a password for a PDF file to encrypt it and send it securely. You can use this mode when sending to an e-mail or file server destination.
You can set a password for a PDF file to restrict printing and changing of the document.

Reader Extensions*

This mode enables you to send a PDF file that allows Comments to be added in Adobe Reader 7 or later.

File Name

You can specify a file name when sending or storing a document via e-mail, I-fax, or file server. If you do not specify a file name, it will be specified automatically.

Subject/Message

You can specify a subject and enter a message when sending an e-mail or I-fax. If you do not specify a subject, it will be specified automatically.

Reply-to

You can specify a reply-to address when sending an e-mail or I-fax.

Setting E-Mail Priority

You can set a priority level when sending e-mail.
