Adding New Functions

This machine is compliant with MEAP (Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform).

MEAP is a software platform that enables the development of custom applications based on Sun Microsystems' Java and Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2ME).
MEAP enables you to do the following:

Install/Uninstall Customized Applications

Installing MEAP applications enables you to use new customizable functions for the machine. You can also uninstall these applications.

User Management and Restriction Using a Login Service

A login service manages data relating to users using the machine. The following two login services are available:
Default Authentication
When [Department ID Management] is set to 'On' in [Management Settings] (Settings/Registration) of the machine, a seven digit Department ID can be registered for each department and a PIN can be registered for each Department ID, enabling only users that enter the correct numbers to use the machine. (See "Department ID Management.")
SSO-H (Single Sign-On H)
A login service which can be used in an Active Directory environment network or in the machine. It contains the following user authentication systems. (For more information, see "SSO-H (Single Sign-On H).")
Domain Authentication
Local Device Authentication
Domain Authentication + Local Device Authentication

NOTE

Default Authentication is selected as the default login service. For instructions on selecting and setting a login service other than default authentication, see "Login Service Selection."
