Functions of Printer Monitor

You can use Printer Monitor to monitor the device status and print/fax jobs and to manage the history of sent/received print/fax logs.

Overview of Printer Monitor

Printer Monitor enables you to monitor the status of external devices, such as imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices, and the print/fax jobs, and manages logs of printing, sending and receiving fax.
By using Printer Monitor, you can display the status of devices and jobs as icons on the Taskbar, and also display an icon when a fax is received and be notified of it by message. You can also be notified via a sound when a fax is received.

When Printer Monitor is started, (Main) is displayed on the Taskbar.
The appearance of (Main) changes according to the status of the monitored device.
NOTE
The default settings of Windows 7/Windows 8.1/Windows 10 restrict icons displayed on the Taskbar notification area. See the following to display the icons displayed by Printer Monitor on the Taskbar notification area.
If Quick Printing Tool has been created, click (Main) and the Quick Printing Tool that is running is displayed in the front of the screen. For information on starting Quick Printing Tool, see the following.

Menus Available from Printer Monitor

The menu items displayed when (Main) is right-clicked are as follows:
[Start iR-ADV Desktop Quick Printing Tool]
Start Quick Printing Tool.
[Create iR-ADV Desktop Quick Printing Tool]
Displays the [imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop Quick Printing Tool Settings] dialog box and [Select Printer/Fax] dialog box.
[Delete iR-ADV Desktop Quick Printing Tool]
Deletes the registered Quick Printing Tool.
[Start Browser]
Start Desktop Browser.
[Display Print Log List]
Displays the [Printed] tab of the [Log List] window.
[Display Sent Fax Log List]
Displays the [Sent Faxes] tab of the [Log List] window.
[Display Received Fax Log List]
Displays the [Received Faxes] tab of the [Log List] window.
[Printer Monitor Tool]
Displays the [Printer Monitor Settings] dialog box.
[Start Monitor Setup]
Starts the Desktop Monitor Setup used for automatic retrieval and manual setting of device information.
[Select Printer to Monitor Status of]
Select the device to display the device status and job status of in (Main) from the sub menu.
[Online Manual]
Displays the online manual.
[About]
Displays a version information.
[Exit]
Close Printer Monitor.

Main Functions of Printer Monitor

The main functions of Printer Monitor are as follows:
Monitoring the status of devices set as monitoring targets
Monitoring print jobs
Monitoring fax transmission jobs
Monitoring print jobs/fax reception jobs
Monitoring the status of devices set as monitoring targets
Printer Monitor monitors the status of the printer set as the monitoring target and displays it as an icon on the Taskbar.
Monitoring print jobs
Displays print job logs on the [Log List] window. The results of print jobs can be notified via the Taskbar or confirmation message.
Monitoring fax transmission jobs
Displays fax transmission job logs on the [Log List] window. The results of fax transmission jobs can be notified via the Taskbar or confirmation message.
Monitoring print jobs/fax reception jobs
Displays fax reception logs for jobs received by external devices on the [Log List] window. The results of fax reception can be also be notified via the Taskbar, a confirmation message, or a sound.
