Clearing Jammed Long Sheet in the POD Deck-D1 + POD Buffer Unit-A1 (Option)

This section describes how to clear the long sheet paper jam that occurred in the POD Deck-D1 + POD Buffer Unit-A1. The location of the POD Deck-D1 + POD Buffer Unit-A1 is indicated in the following illustration.

If Paper is Visible on the Escape Tray

If the tail edge of long sheet jammed in the POD Deck-D1 + POD Buffer Unit-A1 is visible on the escape tray, pull out the paper to clear the jam.

Remove the jammed paper from the escape tray output exit.

Open and close the buffer pass unit front cover.

Checking the Location of Paper Jam

Open the buffer cover.

Open the D-C3 guide.

Open the horizontal pass cover.

Open the D-C1 guide.

If the Lead Edge of Thin/Plain Paper is Visible

Roll the jammed paper in the space made available by opening the D-C1 guide, and then pull it out.

Close the D-C1 guide.

Close the horizontal pass cover.

Close the D-C3 guide.

Close the buffer cover.

If the Tail Edge of Thin/Plain Paper is Visible

Open the buffer pass unit front cover.

Open the B-C1 guide.

Open the B-C2 guide.

Roll the jammed paper in the space made available by opening the B-C2 guide, and then pull it out.

Close the B-C2 guide.

Close the B-C1 guide.

Close the buffer pass unit front cover.

Close the D-C1 guide.

Close the horizontal pass cover.

Close the D-C3 guide.

Close the buffer cover.

If the Lead Edge of Thick Paper is Visible

Open the buffer pass unit front cover.

Open the B-B3 guide.

Open the B-A1 cover by pressing the button.

Slide the jammed paper using hands as far as it can go in the paper feeding direction, in the space made available by opening the D-C1 guide.

Turn the dial (B-B2) to send the jammed paper in the paper feeding direction.

Roll the jammed paper, and then pull it out.

Close the B-A1 cover.

Close the B-B3 guide.

Close the buffer pass unit front cover.

Close the D-C1 guide.

Close the horizontal pass cover.
