Clearing Paper Jam in the Left Side of the Main Unit

This section describes how to clear a paper jam which occurs in the left part of the machine. The location of the left part of the machine is indicated in the following illustration.
NOTE
If the Copy Tray-R is attached to the main unit, remove all output paper from the tray. It may be necessary to lift the Copy Tray-R up, depending on the paper jam.
The following illustration indicates the location of the paper jam. Please refer to it to remove the jammed paper.
* Front Left Cover
Follow the procedure described below, while referring to the location of the paper jam and the directions that appear on the touch panel display, to remove the jammed paper.

Close the cover that is open.
CAUTION
When closing the cover, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.

Open the left cover on the front side of the main unit.
3.
Open the guide (C-B1) and guide (C-B2).
1. Open the guide (C-B1).
2. Open the guide (C-B2).
4.
Pull the lead edge of the jammed paper into C-B1, and roll it slowly in the space made available by opening the C-B1 guide (as shown in the illustration).
5.
Remove the rolled paper.
6.
Close the guide (C-B1) and guide (C-B2).
1. Close the guide (C-B2).
2. Close the guide (C-B1).
7.
Close the left cover on the front side.
CAUTION
When closing the cover, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.
8.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
NOTE
The screen indicating the directions on how to clear the paper jam is displayed repeatedly until the paper jam is cleared.
