Reducing Power Consumption (Sleep Mode)

Sleep mode reduces power consumption by pausing certain operations inside the machine.
On the control panel, press  to enter sleep mode. Control Panel
When the machine is in sleep mode,  lights yellow-green.

Exiting Sleep Mode

Perform any of the following operations:
Press any key on the control panel.
Tap the display.

Configuring Auto Sleep Time

"Auto Sleep" is a function which automatically places the machine into sleep mode after a certain period of idle time. Auto Sleep Time specifies the duration the idle time.

On the control panel, press [Menu] in the [Home] screen. [Home] Screen

Press [Preferences]  [Timer/Energy Settings]  [Auto Sleep Time].
The [Auto Sleep Time] screen is displayed.

Enter the time.
* It is recommended to use the default setting to efficiently save power. [Auto Sleep Time]

Click [Apply].
The settings are applied.
Press  if the machine will not be used for a long period of time, such as overnight
Put the machine into sleep mode as a safety precaution.
The machine does not enter sleep mode in the following cases:
When the Processing/Data indicator on the control panel is lit or blinking Control Panel
When the [Menu] screen or an error message*1, such as a paper jam, is displayed on the control panel
When the machine is performing an adjustment, cleaning, or other operation
 
*1 The machine may enter sleep mode depending on the message.
