Settings and Operation When Using DepartmentID Authentication

This section describes the settings of the machine and how to log in to the machine when using DepartmentID Authentication for the login service.

Department ID Management Settings

Department ID Management is a function for managing users and groups by allocating a Department ID to each user or group.
When you use DepartmentID Authentication for Department ID Management, follow the procedure below to configure the settings.

Set up Department ID Management.
Step 2
Start Department ID Management.
Step 3
When operations from users with an unknown Department ID are restricted, set the Department ID and PIN on each computer using the machine.
Step 4
Perform Department ID Management.
NOTE
When Returning the Login Service to User Authentication and Using Department ID Management
Disable Department ID Management for DepartmentID Authentication, and return the login service to User Authentication. Next, set the Department ID for the users, and then enable Department ID Management for User Authentication.

Logging In to the Machine

When Department ID Management is enabled, you need to enter the Department ID and PIN to log in when using the control panel or Remote UI.

* When the System Manager ID is not set, all login users become users with administrator privileges.
NOTE
When the Department ID Management Is Not Used
General users do not need to log in when using the control panel.
Only when performing operations that require the administrator privileges, press [Log In] from [ Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen, and enter the System Manager ID and PIN to log in.
When general users use Remote UI, click [Log In (General User)] to continue to operate.
When logging in as administrators, enter the System Manager ID and PIN, and click [Log In (Administrator)] to log in.

Using the SMS

When using the SMS, log in to Remote UI using the System Manager ID, then click [Service Management Service], and enter the password for the SMS to log in to the SMS.
To ensure security on the machine, you cannot log in to the SMS using the default password. You need to enable temporary login to the SMS using the default password, and then change the password.

Enabling the Use of the Default Password

Configure the settings to enable temporary use of the default password.
 
This section describes how to configure the settings using Remote UI from a computer.
On the control panel, select [ Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen, and then select [Security Settings] to configure the settings. [Allow Use of Default Password for Remote Access]
Administrator privileges are required. The machine must be restarted to apply the settings.

Click [Security Settings] [Authentication/Password Settings].
The [Authentication/Password Settings] screen is displayed.

In [Password Settings], click [Edit].
The [Password Settings] screen is displayed.

In [Password Operation Settings], select the [Allow Use of Default Password for Remote Access] checkbox.

Click [OK].

Restart the machine. Restarting the Machine
The settings are applied.

Logging In to the SMS to Change the Password

Perform these operations using Remote UI from a computer. You cannot use the control panel to perform these operations.
Administrator privileges are required. After changing the password, restore the original setting to prohibit login using the default password. The machine must be restarted to apply the settings.

The SMS login screen is displayed.

Enter the default password "MeapSmsLogin," and click [Login].
The screen for changing the password is displayed.

Follow the instructions on the screen to change the password.
You can also change the login password for the SMS in [Change Password] under [System Management] of the SMS.

When you have changed the password, click [To Portal].
The Portal page of Remote UI is displayed again after logging out from the SMS.

Restore the original setting to prohibit login using the default password. Enabling the Use of the Default Password
Clear the [Allow Use of Default Password for Remote Access] checkbox to restore the original security level.

Restart the machine. Restarting the Machine
The settings are applied.

Do not forget the new password. If you forget the new password, contact your dealer or service representative.
