Switching [Monitoring Method]

The following two methods are available for switching [Monitoring Method].
IMPORTANT
Monitoring of the target devices may stop for several minutes while switching [Monitoring Method]. Perform this operation at a date and time where it is acceptable for monitoring of the target devices to stop.

Manually Switching [Monitoring Method] for Each Device

1.
Before switching [Monitoring Method], configure settings according to the current setting of [Monitoring Mode].
2.
Select the [Devices] menu > [Monitored Device List].
3.
In the list, select the device ID of a device with [Polling (CCA)] displayed for the [Monitoring Method] field.
4.
On the [Device Details] page, click [Change to CCA], which is displayed near [Monitoring Method].
The result of executing the operation is displayed on the top right of the screen.

If the operation was successful, check all the communication results displayed in the [Communication Test Result] field.

If all communication was successful:

[Monitoring Method] switches to [CCA]. It cannot be reverted back to [Polling].

If any items have an error:

After resolving the error, click [Communication Test], which is displayed near [Registration Status].
If the error cannot be immediately resolved, click [Revert to Polling] to switch [Monitoring Method] back to [Polling].
After resolving the error, perform the operation for switching [Monitoring Method] again.
NOTE
[Revert to Polling] can be clicked when an error occurs for any of the following items.

If the operation failed, follow the instructions on the screen.
The cause is displayed in [Monitoring Method Switch Result].
The button displayed on the screen differs according to the cause. Follow the procedure below to implement the required remedy according to the corresponding status.

Buttons displayed on the screen:

[Monitoring Method]: [CCA]
Buttons displayed in [Registration Status]: [Communication Test] and [Revert to Polling]
Status:
The device was registered to the Remote Monitoring Server as a device with [Monitoring Method] set to [CCA], but the communication test failed.
Remedy:
Confirm that the firewall and other network settings of the device are correct, then click [Communication Test].
If the communication test does not succeed, click [Revert to Polling] to revert [Monitoring Method] back to [Polling].
After correcting the network settings, perform the operation for switching [Monitoring Method] again.

Button displayed in [Registration Status]: [Change to CCA]
Status:
The device was registered to the Remote Monitoring Server as a device with [Monitoring Method] set to [Polling].
This software and the device may not have been able to communicate with the Remote Monitoring Server, or this software may not have been able to communicate with the device.
Remedy:
Confirm the following, then click [Change to CCA] after correcting the settings.
Power of the device and connection of the network cable
Network settings for enabling this software and the device to communicate externally
Device authentication information registered to this software

[Monitoring Method]: [Polling (CCA)]
Buttons displayed in [Registration Status]: [Register] and [Revert to Polling]
Status:
[Monitoring Method] may not be registered to the Remote Monitoring Server.
A network connection problem may have occurred during the operation for switching [Monitoring Method].
Remedy:
Check the network connection status, and click [Register] if there is no problem.
If the network will not recover immediately, click [Register] after the network has recovered.

Periodically Switching [Monitoring Method]

Confirm that the monitored devices include a device with [Monitoring Method] set to [CCA] for which all communication tests have been successful.
If there are no devices that meet these criteria, you cannot configure periodic execution. In this case, manually switch [Monitoring Method] for the corresponding devices.
IMPORTANT
There are two types of devices that can be monitored with [CCA]. If both types are to be monitored, manually switch [Monitoring Method] for each type of device.
Devices of the first type usually have a product name starting with "imageFORCE", "imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX", "imageRUNNER ADVANCE", or "imagePRESS".
Devices of the second type are usually compact multifunction devices or printers.
The first type has [Cloud Connection Agent] displayed in the [Communication Test Result] field when manually switching [Monitoring Method]. The second type has [Cloud Connection Agent (Compact MFP/SFP)] displayed in the [Communication Test Result] field when manually switching [Monitoring Method].
If you are unsure of the type of device, contact the sales company that you have a contract with.
2.
Select the [Tasks] menu > [Built-In Tasks].
3.
Select [Device Registration] from the list.
4.
Select the [Switch the monitoring method for this task] check box.
