Configuring the Device Monitoring Mode (HTTPS)

When HTTPS is selected as the protocol for communication with the Remote Monitoring Server during installation, set the device [Monitoring Mode] after logging in for the first time.
IMPORTANT
[Monitoring Mode] cannot be changed from [CCA Mode] to [Standard Mode] while this software is operating. To change it to [Standard Mode], you must uninstall and reinstall this software.
To change [Monitoring Mode] and [Monitoring Method] while this software is operating to enable a device with the Cloud Connection Agent function to be monitored with [CCA Mode], settings must be configured before performing operations on this screen. For details, see the following.
When using this software at a sales company that uses 12 character device IDs, select [Standard Mode]. Device IDs cannot be fixed to 12 characters when [CCA Mode] is selected.
For information on the procedure for starting/stopping the operation of 12 character device IDs, see the following.
1.
Set the device [Monitoring Mode].
Select the priority method used by this software to monitor the devices.
For details on [CCA Mode] and [Standard Mode], see the following.
2.
When [CCA Mode] is selected for [Monitoring Mode], configure the proxy server settings.
When [CCA Mode] is selected for [Monitoring Mode], the computer where this software operates is the proxy server that gathers together communication between the Remote Monitoring Server and devices.
[Proxy Address (PC on Which This System is Installed)]
Enter the IP address of the computer where this software will operate.
[Port Number]
Specify the port number used by the proxy server. Specify a port that is not used by the computer for other purposes.
3.
If you selected [CCA Mode] for [Monitoring Mode], deliver settings to the target devices for monitoring and restart those devices.
Devices for monitoring with the CCA Mode support software delivery and license management via the Remote Distribution & Management Service.
Select whether to automatically or manually configure the settings for making the function usable from this software.
[Auto Update Device Setting Values]
[Do Not Auto Update (Update Manually)]
If you select this, you must manually change the device settings and restart the device. For details, contact the sales company that you have a contract with.
[Auto Update During Set Time Only]
Settings are delivered to the device from this software and the device is restarted.
If you select this, specify the time of the day to allow device restarting.
[Times When Device Restart Is Allowed (Standard)]
Specify the time of day to allow restarting.
To specify multiple times of day, click [Add].
To specify a period that spans across two days, specify a period that ends at 24:00 and a period that starts at 0:00.
[Times When Device Restart Is Allowed (Exceptions)]
Enables you to set a time of the day for each day of the week that differs from the basic settings. The [Times When Device Restart Is Allowed (Exceptions)] setting is prioritized over the [Times When Device Restart Is Allowed (Standard)] setting.
NOTE
The device is not restarted if the software receives information from the device indicating that the required settings are already set.
If the device requires its device setting values to be updated, is displayed next to [CCA] in the [Monitoring Method] field in the [Devices] menu > [Monitored Device List].
4.
Click [Save].
When [CCA Mode] is selected for [Monitoring Mode], if the proxy server function is not installed in the computer where this software will operate, the installation starts. Installation of the Visual C++ redistributable package will also start if required.
If the specified port number cannot be used, a message is displayed and the installation is canceled. Specify another port number.
When the proxy server function is installed, [Squid] is added as a Windows service. Shortcut icons to the following applications are displayed on the desktop.
Squid Terminal
Squid Server Tray
5.
If a dialog box for entering the user name and password is displayed, you must select the authentication method for connecting to the proxy server.
The dialog box may be displayed if you change [Monitoring Mode] to [CCA Mode] while this software is operating.
[Import keytab file]
If you have created an authentication information file (keytab file), select this to import the authentication information file (keytab file).
[Authenticate with user name and password]
If it is possible to automatically generate an authentication information file (keytab file), select this and enter the user name and password of the domain user to use for operating this software. Administrator privileges are not required.
