Editing Device Settings Information

This section describes the procedure for editing device settings information with this software on the [Edit Device Setting Values] screen of the [Device Settings] window.

Basic Method for Editing Items

Select the item to edit.
The selected settings are highlighted in yellow.
a. Settings Tree
Displays the settings that can be edited in this software in a hierarchical structure.
b. Settings List
Display a list of the settings included in the level selected in the settings tree.
c. Search Form
Enter a keyword and click [Search] to search for item names that partially match the keyword.
Levels that include the keyword are expanded and levels that do not include the keyword are displayed in gray. Item names that match the keyword are indicated with a dotted line.
If levels that do not match the keyword are expanded, items that match the keyword are included in that level. Select such a level to display the items that match the keyword in the right pane.
NOTE
Single-byte and double-byte characters are treated as separate characters.
AND or OR searches cannot be performed.

Select the items to output, and edit the settings.
IMPORTANT
If the existing device settings information has been read, a check box for the item that meets the following condition is already selected.
Items that can be reflected to the same model (the same series) as where the device settings information was retrieved (Case B)
Items that can also be reflected to the different models than where the device settings information was retrieved (Case C)

Cautions for Operation
If the settings value of the items to output differ from the default value of the device,  is displayed to the right of the settings.
The settings list displays the current settings. When creating new settings information, the default settings are displayed. The default settings may differ from the default settings of the device. For information on the default settings of the device, see the following.

Items with a grey check box cannot be edited. Their check box becomes available by changing the setting of a related item.

Click [Confirm Edits] when editing is complete.
Items selected on the [Edit Device Setting Values] screen are displayed on the [Confirm Edits] screen.
NOTE
If you output to a CSV file, you can display a list of items and setting values. Click [Export Edits] to output to a CSV file.
CSV files cannot be imported into this software or device.
To change the settings:
Click [Cancel].
The [Edit Device Setting Values] screen is displayed again.
To set the edited settings:
Click [Update].
The changes are temporarily saved. To output the settings information to a file, it is necessary to return to the main screen and click [Save As].
IMPORTANT
If you exit this software without outputting to a file on the main screen, all temporary changes are discarded.
Click [Close].
NOTE
If you click [Close] without clicking [Update], the changes are discarded.
If related items exist for the items to output to the file, the categories that those other items belong to are also set to be output. Therefore, if you return to the main screen after editing existing device settings information, categories that were previously not included in the device settings information may be displayed in the [Category] field.
