Paper Jams in Document Insertion Unit-R (Option)
Remove the paper jammed in Document Insertion Unit-R. Follow the instructions on the control panel to check the location of the paper jam and remove the jammed paper.
If the paper tears, be sure to remove all parts so that no pieces remain.
If you cannot remove the paper, do not try to remove it forcibly. Check the control panel and remove the jammed paper at another location.

Remove any paper loaded in the document insertion unit.

Check whether paper is jammed in the upper cover (I1 guide) of the document insertion unit.

Open the upper cover (I1 guide) of the document insertion unit.

If paper is jammed, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.

Check whether paper is jammed in the I2 guide.

Open the I2 guide.

Close the I2 guide.

Close the upper cover (I1 guide) of the document insertion unit.

While pressing the handle lever, open the document insertion unit.

Check whether paper is jammed in the I3 guide.

If paper is jammed, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.

Close the I3 guide.

Close the document insertion unit.

Open the front cover of the document insertion unit.

Check whether paper is jammed in the A1 guide.

Open the A1 guide.

If paper is jammed, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.

Close the A1 guide.

Check whether paper is jammed in the A2 guide.

Open the A2 guide.

Turn the A3 knob.

If paper is jammed, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.
When Long Sheet Paper Is Jammed
Draw out the end of the paper, and then gently pull out the paper while bending it. In this case, you do not need to turn the A3 knob.

Close the A2 guide.

Close the front cover of the document insertion unit.
* After you remove jammed Long Sheet paper, a screen may appear prompting you to open the front cover of the paper folding unit. You can make this screen disappear by opening and then closing the front cover.

Reload the paper in the document insertion unit.
When the paper jam is cleared, the screen indicating a paper jam disappears, and printing resumes automatically.
If a screen indicating a paper jam at a different location appears, continue following the instructions on the screen to remove the jammed paper.

If the Paper Jam Message Is Repeatedly Displayed
Open the entrance guide located above the A3 knob on the inside of the front cover, and check whether paper remains.
