Creating New Device Settings Information That Includes Only Settings Edited with This Software

You can create new device settings information that includes only settings editable with this software.
1.
Click [New].

Enter the properties of the device settings information to create.
[Device Model]
Select the model name of the device to create the device settings information for from the pull-down menu.
[Device Serial Number]
To create settings information for a specific device, enter the serial number of the device.
For imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX devices or third generation models, you can create device settings information without specifying a serial number. However, settings that are only reflected to devices with a matching serial number are not reflected to any devices.

List of Editable Items
[Encryption Password]
Set the password for encrypting the data subject to encryption in the device settings information.
The displayed password is masked.
When distributing device settings information created in this software with iW Enterprise Management Console V4.x or later, it is recommended to set the same encryption password as that set for [Encryption Password] in iW Enterprise Management Console V4.x or later.
[Confirm]
Enter the same password that you entered in [Encryption Password] for confirmation.
[Security Level]
Set the security level of device settings information.
This setting is displayed when the model selected in [Device Model] can select the security level.

Click [OK].

Editing Device Settings Information

Creating Device Settings Information by Changing Some Settings Included in Existing Device Settings Information

You can create a file that changes some of the device settings information retrieved from a device.
IMPORTANT
Device settings information created with this method includes all settings in the original device settings information, including those that cannot be edited. If you do not want to include items and categories that cannot be edited with this software, select [New].

Click [Open].
2.
Select the device settings information file to edit in the [Select Device Setting Values File] dialog box.
3.
Enter the password set when exporting the DCM file.
The displayed password is masked.

Click [OK].
Information for the device settings information that has been read is displayed.
[DCM File Name]
Displays the name of the read file.
[Status]
Displays whether the information was saved to the file after being edited.
[Device Model]
Displays the model name of the device corresponding to the read file.
[Device Serial Number]
Displays the serial number of the device corresponding to the read file.
[Category]
Displays the categories included in the read file.
[Security Level]
If the security level of the imported file is level 2, the security level is displayed.
If the security level of the imported file is level 1, the security level is not displayed.

Click [Edit].
The [Device Settings] window is displayed. For more information, see the following.

Reediting the Device Settings Information

To edit the settings again after closing the [Device Settings] window, perform the following operations.
