List of Status Icons of Printer Monitor

By setting Printer Monitor to display the status of the default printer, the main icon in the task tray changes according to the status of the default printer.
Note
In order to display the status of the default printer, you need to configure the view settings. For more information on these settings, see the following.
The monitoring period of the printer status is 3 minutes. Printer monitoring in Printer Monitor starts in the following cases.
When starting Printer Monitor by following the steps in "Starting Printer Monitor" in "Starting and Exiting Printer Monitor"
When you click (Main) on the task tray
When printing is performed using the default printer
When the monitoring setting for the default printer has been changed from OFF to ON
When the default printer has been changed
When the name or port of the default printer has been changed
When Output Manager Service is started or stopped
The default settings of Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 8.1 restrict icons displayed in the task tray area. Follow the steps below to display Printer Monitor icons in the task tray area.
1.Select the [Start] menu (for Windows 7) or the Charm [Settings] (for Windows 8/Windows 8.1) > [Control Panel].
[Control Panel] is displayed.
2.Select [Small icons] in [View by].
All the Control Panel items are shown in [Control Panel].
3.Select [Notification Area Icons].
The [Notification Area Icons] window is displayed.
4.Select the [Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar] check box, and click [OK].
The [Notification Area Icons] window closes.
5.Close [Control Panel].
If you only want to set the "main icon", set [Show icon and notifications].
(Ready)
This is displayed when the printer is ready for printing and is running correctly.
(Error)
This is displayed when the device is in an error condition and fails to continue printing because of a paper jam, no toner, or no paper, or when the status of the device cannot be confirmed due to a network connection failure or power failure.
(Warning)
This is displayed when the device is getting ready for printing, when the remaining toner level is low, or when a warning situation occurs in the device. For example, when there are paper sources that contain no paper.
(Getting Status)
This is displayed when the status of the device is being retrieved.
(Monitoring Not Possible)
If a fax is chosen as the default printer
When the device is one in which monitoring is not possible
When the Output Manager Service (a Windows Service to search devices and obtain IP address) is halted and the device status cannot be obtained
(Not Monitored)
This is displayed when the device is not monitored.
(Offline)
This is displayed when the device is offline.
Note
When multiple statuses have been obtained, they are displayed in the following order of priority.
Error > Offline > Warning > Ready
In cases such as when the default printer normally used by other users is removed, or if the default printer cannot be monitored, restart Printer Monitor or reconfigure the default printer settings.
