Changing the Properties of Variable Fields

You can edit the properties of a variable field by using Variable Editor.
1.
Click (Select Object) on the Object Palette Pane.

Move the mouse on a desired variable field to change the properties in the Work Pane, and click the mouse when the shape of the mouse pointer changes to .
Or, drag the mouse pointer selection rectangle to include the variable field you want to move.
The properties of the selected variable field are displayed in the Object Palette Pane.
Note
Multiple variable fields can be selected by left-clicking them while holding down the [Ctrl] key on the keyboard.
You can select multiple variable fields of the same type to configure their properties simultaneously.
When selecting multiple fields of different types, only those properties that are shared between all of them can be edited.
Variable field settings can only be configured when only one variable field is selected.
3.
Edit the properties.

Click on the Work Pane outside the variable field you edited to deselect the variable field.
Note
If you selected multiple variable fields, they are edited as follows.
The settings that were changed are the same for all selected variable fields.
The settings that were not changed stay the same as what they were.
