Cautions and Restrictions

Variable Editor is started from the Document Binder screen. Variable Editor cannot be started independently.

While using Variable Editor, you cannot return to the Document Binder screen where you launched Variable Editor.

If you launch Variable Editor when Document Binder is opened in read-only mode, even if the edit results are overwritten in Variable Editor you will not be able to integrate changes made in the edit results source binder document. This is because binder documents cannot be overwritten in Document Binder.

Excel files set in the database are read-only when Variable Editor is running.

If starting Variable Editor when files set in the database are opened, Variable Editor starts without being connected to the database. In this case message is displayed.

The minimum size of a variable field is 40 pixels (W) by 40 pixels (H). When the magnification factor is 200%, the minimum size is 80 pixels (W) by 80 pixels (H).

If a date and time are entered into a record, the record may be recognized not as text but as a date/time in Variable Editor. If you use this record as a variable field in Variable Editor, it will be displayed differently in the record and the variable field.

You can run multiple Variable Editor at the same time, however you can only paste copied or cut variable fields in the Variable Editor in which you have done the copy or cut operation.

Using / on the Toolbar, you can undo/redo up to 19 actions.

If the font set in the text field is not registered on your system, a replacement font will be used instead. In addition, if a character that cannot be drawn using the specified font is present, the character will be replaced with a font that can draw it. You cannot specify the replacement font.
