Introduction of the Optional Accessories

The following optional accessories are available to make full use of the printer functions.

Paper Feeder

You can load up to 500 sheets of plain paper (20.0 lb Bond (75 g/m2)) of the following sizes in the paper feeder.
Standard sizes
A4, B5, A5, A6, Legal, Letter, Executive, Statement, Foolscap, and 16K
Custom paper sizes
Width 4.13 to 8.50 in. (105.0 to 215.9 mm), Length 5.83 to 14.00 in. (148.0 to 355.6 mm)*

If you are using the UFR II printer driver, you can load custom size paper that is 5.83 to 8.50 in. (148.0 to 215.9 mm) wide and 5.83 to 8.50 in. (148.0 to 215.9 mm) long also in landscape orientation.

You can install up to two paper feeders.

Expansion RAM

Expansion RAM is an extended memory that expands the amount of memory. This printer comes with 192 MB of memory (128 MB of stationary RAM and 64 MB of RAM installed to the RAM slot).
One expansion RAM module can be added, and the memory capacity can be expanded up to a maximum of 384 MB.

The paper size is based on the A or B series paper sizes.
The following paper sizes are arranged in order of square measure from the largest to the smallest.

The guaranteed paper sizes for printing vary depending on the settings for [Gradation Level] and [2-Sided Printing] on printing. Calculate the sizes based on the paper sizes in the table above.

IMPORTANT
About the compatible expansion RAM module
Be sure to use a 3.3 V SDRAM DIMM compatible with this printer.
We recommend that you should use Canon Expansion RAM (ER-64, ER-128, or ER-256).
Additionally, the expansion RAM module that can be installed in this printer is shaped as follows.

Wireless Network Interface Board NB-W2

NB-W2 is an interface board to be installed in the expansion slot of the printer.
The communication mode supports the infrastructure mode and is available for wireless LAN communication (compatible with IEEE802.11b and IEEE802.11g, and available for communication of up to 54 Mbps transmission speed by wireless). Additionally, the security functions compatible with WEP, IEEE802.1X/EAP (TLS/TTLS/PEAP), PSK, and WPA (AES) are supported.
