Attention (IEEE 802.1X Authentication)

IMPORTANT
Conditions for using IEEE 802.1X authentication
In this printer, IEEE 802.1X authentication is available only in wired LAN environments.
To use IEEE 802.1X authentication, you need an authentication server (RADIUS Server).
When using IEEE 802.1X authentication
Specify the time information for the printer.
You can obtain the time information using either of the following methods.
Notifying the printer of the time information using the NTP server (Specifying SNTP)
Notifying the printer of the time set on the computer using the following procedure

Display the Printer Status Window.
2.
Select [Preferences (Administrators)] from the [Options] menu.
3.
Select the [Notify the Printer of the Time] check box.
NOTE
IEEE 802.1X authentication protocol
This printer supports TLS, TTLS, and PEAP for IEEE 802.1X authentication.
TLS implements cross certification between a certificate sent from an authentication server and a certificate specified for the printer.
TTLS and PEAP implement cross certification between a certificate sent from an authentication server and a user name and password specified for the printer.
Setting IEEE 802.1X authentication
We recommend that the settings be performed by the network administrator.
