Importing/Exporting a Driver Address Book
You can import the content of an address book used in another application into the address book of the driver. You can also export the content of the address book and use it in other applications.
To Export the Address Book
NOTE If you want to protect an exported address book with a password, you can set it in [Special] sheet > [Security Settings].
1.
Display the [Select Destination] sheet.
You can display this from the fax transmission settings screen when sending a fax or changing the default settings.
2.
Select [Canon Fax Driver Address Book] from [Address Book List] → click [Edit Address Book].
3.
Click [Export] in the [Edit Address Book] dialog box.
4.
Specify the save location and file name → click [Save] or [OK].
The file formats and character codes that can be selected when saving the address book are as follows:
File format: CSV Files (*.csv) / Canon Address Book (*.abk)
Character code (when saving as a Canon Address Book): ANSI / UTF-8
The [Notes] item in the address book is not exported.
5.
Click [OK].
To Import an Address Book
Prerequisites
Check the type and format of the address book file to import.
Procedures
1.
Display the [Select Destination] sheet.
You can display this from the fax transmission settings screen when sending a fax or changing the default settings.
2.
Select [Canon Fax Driver Address Book] from [Address Book List] → click [Edit Address Book].
3.
In the displayed dialog box, click [Import] → select the address book file to be imported.
To import while checking whether duplicate personal destinations are included, enable [Confirm whether or not personal destinations are duplicates (groups will not be imported)].
If it is enabled, group destinations will not be imported.
4.
Click [Open].
If you enabled [Confirm whether or not personal destinations are duplicates (groups will not be imported)] in the above step, a confirmation dialog box is displayed when duplicate personal destinations are found.
Follow the message in the dialog box to proceed with the import process.
5.
In the [Edit Address Book] dialog box, click [OK].
