Make sure that the power cord is securely plugged into the machine and into the wall outlet.

Make sure that electricity is supplied from the power cord.
Use another power cord or check to see if the cord is broken using a voltmeter.

Turn ON the power switch.

Wait a few moments until the machine starts and warms up.

Make sure that paper is loaded properly in the drawer or multi-purpose tray.

Check if paper is jammed.

Turn OFF the power switch, wait 10 seconds, and turn it ON again.

If the problem is solved, the Error indicator will turn off and the display will return to standby mode. If the Error indicator keeps blinking, unplug the power cord and contact your local authorized Canon dealer.
