Outputting PostScript Files from an Application

When you want to perform printing using functions that cannot be used from an application (see "Functions Not Available from Applications") or it is not obtained the print result that you aimed at (see Caution When Printing from Applications), output to a PostScript file, and then print that PostScript file from the driver UI.
The method for outputting a PostScript file differs according to the application. This section describes the procedure for outputting a PostScript file with Adobe Reader 7.x/8.x/9.x and Open Office 1.x/2.x/3.x.

Select [Print] from the [File] menu.
The [Print] dialog box is displayed.

Select [Print to file] → click [OK].
NOTE
Use the default settings of the application for the print settings.

Specify the location to save the file and the filename.
NOTE
If you can specify the file type (output format), select PostScript.

Click [Save] ([Print]/[OK]).

NOTE
Use the default (initial values) for the print settings in the application. When you used it anything other than the default, the print result of no intention of you might come out.
