Document Notification

By using Document Monitor to manage documents, when there is an unread/updated document in a monitored folder or a new document arrives in My Tray, you are notified by the document notification icon in the Taskbar, by the [List of Unread/Modified Documents] window, or by sound.

NOTE
You need to configure the document notification settings to receive document notifications. For more information on these settings, see the following.
If a document has its highlighting cleared on the Desktop Browser screen, you will not be notified about that document. For more information on highlighting, see the following.

Document Notification Icon and [List of Unread/Modified Documents] Window

You can choose to be notified by the document notification icon on the Taskbar or the [List of Unread/Modified Documents] window, when there is an unread/updated document in the monitored folder, or when a new document arrives in My Tray.
If a comment has been attached to a new document in My Tray, by displaying a thumbnail in the [List of Unread/Modified Documents] window, the comment is displayed.
For PDF documents, the number of pages is displayed in the [List of Unread/Modified Documents] window.
NOTE
You can check the document logs in the document notification icon of the Taskbar. For more information, see the following.
Multiple icons are not displayed for the document notification icon displayed in the Taskbar.
Version 2.1 or later of Document Server is required to display the number of pages for PDF documents in a Document Server Library.
The [List of Unread/Modified Documents] window can be dragged and moved to any point on the desktop, and also resized.
When you reopen the [List of Unread/Modified Documents] window after closing it, click or right-click the document notification icon and select [Display List of Unread/Modified Documents].
The [List of Unread/Modified Documents] window is not displayed if the computer is locked or a screensaver is running.
The following document notification icons are displayed in the Taskbar.

This is displayed in the Taskbar when there are unread/updated documents in a monitored folder or new documents in My Tray.
The [List of Unread/Modified Documents] window displays the following icon, message and the documents or the folders where the documents you were notified of are saved.
There are unread documents in the following folders.
If you fail to access the monitoring target folder, an access failed notification window is displayed.
In the access failure notification, the following icon, message, and the monitoring target folder where the access failure occurred are displayed.

Could not access this folder. Click [Remove] to remove a folder that does not require monitoring.

Document Notification Sound

The document notification sound notifies you of unread/updated documents and new documents. The alarm sounds for nine seconds.
The types of notification sound you can select are as follows:
Type
Tone
[Use default sound]
The Windows message sound is played.
[Change sound]
A wav/wave format sound source file can be selected.
NOTE
The document notification sound does not play if the computer is locked or a screensaver is running.
By performing one of the following operations, the notification sound can be turned off.
Closing the [List of Unread/Modified Documents] window
Displaying the [List of Unread/Modified Documents] window or the [Log List] window
