Replacing the Toner Cartridge
When toner starts running low or has run out, a message is displayed prompting you to prepare a new toner cartridge or perform toner cartridge replacement. Prepare a new toner cartridge or perform toner cartridge replacement according to the displayed message.
Cautions When Replacing the Toner Cartridge

Do not replace the toner cartridge until the message prompting you to do so appears. Be sure to hold the toner cartridge using the handle.  Do not touch the electrical contact (  ) or toner cartridge memory ( ). Do not open the drum protective shutter ( ) to prevent the drum surface from being scratched or exposed to light. |

Procedure for Replacing the Toner Cartridge
When replacing the toner cartridge, follow the instructions on the display along with the procedure below.

Open the front cover while holding down the button.

Pull out the toner cartridge.

Remove the new toner cartridge from its packaging.

Grip the tape and remove it together with the protective sheet.

Shake the toner cartridge five or six times as shown below to evenly distribute the toner inside the cartridge, and then place it on a flat surface.

Pull the sealing tape straight out.
The sealing tape is approximately 70 cm long.
When pulling out the sealing tape
Sealing tape remaining inside the toner cartridge may cause printing problems.
Do not pull it on an angle. Doing so may cause the sealing tape to rip and prevent you from pulling it out completely.

Pull the sealing tape out completely, even if it gets stuck along the way.

Install the toner cartridge.
Align the toner cartridge with the toner cartridge guides () and push it into the slot until it stops.
