Registering an S/MIME Certificate

When you use S/MIME to encrypt e-mail or I-Faxes, register the public key certificate (S/MIME certificate) to be used for encryption in the machine.
 
Register the S/MIME certificate using Remote UI from a computer. You cannot use the control panel to register this.
Administrator privileges are required.
Required Preparations
Check the conditions of the S/MIME certificate usable with the machine. Keys and Certificates

Log in to Remote UI as an administrator. Starting Remote UI

On the Portal page of Remote UI, click [Settings/Registration]. Remote UI Portal Page

Click [Device Management] [S/MIME Certificate Settings].
The [S/MIME Certificate Settings] screen is displayed.

Click [Register S/MIME Certificate].
The [Register S/MIME Certificate] screen is displayed.

Click [Choose File], and specify the file to register.

Click [Register].
The registered S/MIME certificate is added to the list of S/MIME certificates on the [S/MIME Certificate Settings] screen.

Log out from Remote UI.
NOTE
Viewing and Verifying Detailed Information of a Registered S/MIME Certificate
When you click the icon of the certificate in the list of S/MIME certificates on the [S/MIME Certificate Settings] screen, the S/MIME certificate details are displayed.
On the S/MIME certificate details screen, click [Verify Certificate] to verify whether the S/MIME certificate is valid.
