Preventing Connection to a Computer via the USB Port
You can disable the USB port for computer connection on the back right side of the machine to reduce the risk of external use of the machine without going through a secure network.
This section describes how to configure the settings using Remote UI from a computer.
On the control panel, select [
Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen, and then select [Preferences] to configure the settings. [Use as USB Device]
Administrator privileges are required. The machine must be restarted to apply the settings.

Log in to Remote UI as an administrator. Starting Remote UI

On the Portal page of Remote UI, click [Settings/Registration]. Remote UI Portal Page

Click [External Interface] 
[USB Settings].
[USB Settings].The [USB Settings] screen is displayed.

Clear the [Use as USB Device] checkbox, and click [OK].

Restart the machine. Restarting the Machine
The settings are applied.
NOTE
Even if you use this setting to restrict the use of the USB port for computer connection, memory media can still be connected to the USB port on the front right side of the machine. To also restrict USB connection of memory media, see the following:
