Restricting Use of Memory Media
USB memory devices and other memory media can be easy and convenient, but they can also lead to information leakage. You can prohibit the use of memory media for specific functions or all functions.
NOTE
Even if you use this setting to restrict the use of memory media, a computer can still be connected to the USB port on the back right side of the machine. To also restrict computer connections, see the following:
Preventing Use of Memory Media When Scanning and Printing
This section describes how to configure the settings using Remote UI from a computer.
On the control panel, select [
Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen, and then select [Function Settings] to configure the settings. [Use Scan/Print Function]
Administrator or DeviceAdmin privileges are required. The machine must be restarted to apply the settings.

Log in to Remote UI as an administrator. Starting Remote UI

On the Portal page of Remote UI, click [Settings/Registration]. Remote UI Portal Page

Click [Store/Access Files] 
[Memory Media Settings].
[Memory Media Settings].The [Memory Media Settings] screen is displayed.

Clear the checkbox of the functions you want to restrict, and click [OK].
To Prevent Storing Scanned Data to Memory Media
Clear the [Use Scan Function] checkbox.
To Prevent Printing Data Stored in Memory Media
Clear the [Use Print Function] checkbox.

This section describes how to configure the settings using Remote UI from a computer.
