[Direct Connection Settings]

Configure the settings for using a direct connection and for the connection function.

NOTE
When you select [Wi-Fi Direct], only one mobile device can be connected.

Set the name used to identify the machine when [Wi-Fi Direct] is selected in [Direct Connection Type].
* "-XY_Canon10" (where "XY" represents two random letters) is automatically appended to the device name for Wi-Fi Direct. However, if you set a device name that is 22 characters or more, "-XY_Canon10" is not appended.

Enter the amount of time from when the direct connection is started until it is terminated. If multiple mobile devices are connected, they will be disconnected when this amount of time elapses after the last connection was started.
0 min. (Off), 1 to 30 to 60 min.

This setting is disabled when [Always Keep Enabled If SSID/Network Key Specified] is set to [On].

Set the SSID (network name) and network key (password) to be used for establishing a direct connection in Access Point Mode. Enabling the Direct Connection Function
When you set [Use Personal SSID and Network Key] to [On], a separate SSID and network key can be used for each login user. [Personal SSID and Network Key Settings]
Multiple mobile devices can be connected at the same time if you set [Use Personal SSID and Network Key] to [Off] and set both an SSID and a network key.

Set whether to allow mobile devices to always connect to the machine.
When you select [On], a fixed SSID (network name) and network key (password) need to be set in [Specify SSID to Use] and [Specify Network Key to Use] in [Access Point Mode Settings]. A maximum of five mobile devices can be connected to the machine at the same time.

When you select [On], the [Time Until Direct Connection Session Is Terminated] setting is disabled.

Set the SSID (network name) and network key (password) of the direct connection for each login user.
When you set [Automatically Enable/Disable Direct Connection at Login/Logout] to [On], a direct connection can be established automatically at login without pressing [Enable] for [Direct Connection] in [Mobile Portal].
* You cannot configure this setting if you log in as a user with Administrator privileges and select [Device Settings] on the screen displayed after pressing [ Settings/Registration]. To set your own login user SSID and network key, select [Personal Settings].
