Configuring Security Notification

If a security issue is detected in the settings or installation environment of the machine, a message can be displayed on the control panel to notify the user. The settings can be changed for each item to be detected.
 
This section describes how to configure the settings using the control panel.
You can also configure the settings using Remote UI from a computer. Managing the Machine from a Computer (Remote UI)
Administrator privileges are required.

Log in to the machine as an administrator. Logging In to the Machine

On the control panel, press [ Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen. [Home] Screen
The [Settings/Registration] screen is displayed.

Press [Management Settings] [Security Settings] [Recommended Security Set. for Usage Environment] [Security-Related Notification Settings].
The [Security-Related Notification Settings] screen is displayed.

Specify whether to display a message when a security issue is detected.
When you select [On], a message is displayed on the control panel if a security issue is detected.
[When Recommended Usage Environment Is Updated]
A message is displayed when the previously recommended usage environment is changed.

A message is displayed when the machine is connected to the Internet.
[When Encryption Method Vuln. Is Found for Selected Wireless LAN]
A message is displayed when the machine is connected to an unencrypted access point or an access point that uses the WEP or WPA security standard.

Press [OK].
The settings are applied.
IMPORTANT
If a security policy has been applied to the machine, you cannot configure this setting.
When the machine is connected to two different networks, the following notifications are provided only to the main line:
