Using a Proxy

Using a proxy server to connect to a network not only facilitates managing communications with external networks but blocks unauthorized access and consolidates anti-virus protection for enhanced security.
* When the machine is connected to two networks at the same time, and a proxy is used to send and receive specific system data via the sub line, you must also configure the proxy on the sub line in addition to configuring this setting. Configuring the Proxy of the Sub Line
 
This section describes how to configure the settings using Remote UI from a computer.
On the control panel, select [ Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen, and then select [Preferences] to configure the settings. [Proxy Settings]
Administrator or NetworkAdmin privileges are required.
Required Preparations
Prepare the address, port number, and authentication information of the proxy server.

Log in to Remote UI as an administrator. Starting Remote UI

On the Portal page of Remote UI, click [Settings/Registration]. Remote UI Portal Page

Click [Network Settings] [Proxy Settings].
The [Proxy Settings] screen is displayed.

Select the [Use Proxy] checkbox.

Enter the address and port number of the proxy server.
In [HTTP Proxy Server Address], enter the IP address and host name.
In [HTTP Proxy Server Port Number], enter the port number.

Set the applicable range and authentication information according to your usage environment.
When Using the Specified Proxy Server Also for Communication with Devices on the Same Domain
Select the [Use Proxy within Same Domain] checkbox.
When Authentication Is Required to Connect to a Proxy Server
Select the [Use Proxy Authentication] checkbox, enter the user name to use for authentication, and enter the same password in [Password] and [Confirm] using alphanumeric characters.

Click [OK].

Click [Apply Setting Changes] [OK].
The settings are applied.

Log out from Remote UI.
