Paper Jams in Staple Finisher-AG and Booklet Finisher-AG (Option)

Remove the paper jammed in Staple Finisher-AG or Booklet Finisher-AG. Follow the instructions on the control panel to check the location of the paper jam and remove the jammed paper.
If the paper tears, be sure to remove all parts so that no pieces remain.
If you cannot remove the paper, do not try to remove it forcibly. Check the control panel and remove the jammed paper at another location.

Paper Jams Inside the Top Cover

This section describes how to clear paper jams inside the top cover. Follow the instructions on the control panel to check the location of the paper jam and remove the jammed paper.

Open the front cover of the finisher.

If the puncher unit is attached, press the A1 button as far as it will go.

Open the A2 guide.

If paper is jammed, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.

Close the A2 guide.

If Document Insertion Unit-R is adjacently attached to the finisher, open the document insertion unit.

Check whether paper is jammed in the A3 guide (top cover) of the finisher.

Open the A3 guide (top cover).

If paper is jammed, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.

Open the A4 guide.

If paper is jammed, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.

Gently close the A4 guide until it clicks.

Close the A3 guide (top cover) of the finisher.
Holding the handle of the top cover, press down on the location indicated by the labels to make sure the cover is securely closed.

If paper is jammed in the A5 guide (located in the hollow area), gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.

Close the front cover of the finisher.
When the paper jam is cleared, the screen indicating a paper jam disappears, and printing resumes automatically.
If a screen indicating a paper jam at a different location appears, continue following the instructions on the screen to remove the jammed paper.

Paper Jams Inside the Front Cover

Open the front cover of the finisher.

Open the B1 guide.

Turn the B2 knob.

If paper is jammed, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.

Close the B1 guide.

Turn the B3 knob.
The jammed paper is fed to the output slot.

Turn the B4 knob.
The jammed paper is fed to the output slot.

Lift up the B5 guide (located in the opening of the lower paper outlet), and gently pull out the jammed paper in the direction of the arrow.
When Long Sheet Paper Is Jammed in the Output Area of the Upper Tray (Tray A)

Close the front cover of the finisher.
When the paper jam is cleared, the screen indicating a paper jam disappears, and printing resumes automatically.
If a screen indicating a paper jam at a different location appears, continue following the instructions on the screen to remove the jammed paper.

Paper Jams Inside the Saddle Stitch Unit (For Booklet Finisher-AG Only)

This section describes how to clear paper jams inside the saddle stitch unit. Follow the instructions on the control panel to check the location of the paper jam and remove the jammed paper.

Open the front cover of the finisher.

Open the C1 guide.

Turn the upper C2 dial.
The jammed paper is fed to the C1 guide.

Turn the lower C2 dial.
The jammed paper is fed to the C1 guide.

Gently pull out the paper jammed in the C1 guide in the direction of the arrow.

Close the C1 guide.

If the light () is lit, push the C3 dial and turn it in the direction of the arrow.
Turn the C3 dial until the light turns off.
The jammed paper is fed to the booklet tray.
When Booklet Trimmer-G is attached, the jammed paper is fed to the feeding belt of Booklet Trimmer-G.

If there is jammed paper on the conveyor of the booklet tray, remove it.
When Booklet Trimmer-G is attached, remove the paper on the feeding belt of Booklet Trimmer-G.

Pull out the saddle stitch unit (C4).

Check whether paper is jammed in the saddle stitch unit.

Open the right cover of the saddle stitch unit (C5 cover).

If paper is jammed, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.

Close the right cover of the saddle stitch unit (C5 cover).

Check that the pressing unit is fully in position.
If the Pressing Unit Is Not Fully in Position

Check whether paper is jammed in the output area of the saddle stitch unit.

If the light () is lit, push the C7 dial and turn it in the direction of the arrow.

If paper is jammed in the output area of the saddle stitch unit, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.

Open the C8 guide and gently pull out the jammed paper in the direction of the arrow.

Close the C8 guide.

Push the saddle stitch unit (C4) and close the front cover of the finisher.
When the paper jam is cleared, the screen indicating a paper jam disappears, and printing resumes automatically.
If a screen indicating a paper jam at a different location appears, continue following the instructions on the screen to remove the jammed paper.
