To convert to a TIFF document:
Change the [Color Mode] setting to [Grayscale] or [Black & White].
Select [Compression Settings] in [ZIP].
Reduce the value in [Resolution].
Deselect the [Convert annotations into images] check box.

When [Enable preview feature for [Explorer]] is not specified in [System Settings], previewing may not be available for Office documents.

When [Do not preview files with the specified extensions] is specified in [System Settings], documents which have extensions that are registered in [Do not preview files with the specified extensions] cannot be previewed.

When you do not use a Canon printer, click [Print] in the [Properties] dialog box to configure the printer properties.

To start the e-mail application from Desktop Browser, you must register the e-mail application as the default program.
Follow the steps below to register the e-mail application. After registering, close Document Monitor and then restart Desktop Browser.
Only MAPI (Messaging Application Program Interface) enabled e-mail applications can be started in Desktop Browser. If after completing the following steps the e-mail application is not displayed, it cannot be started in Desktop Browser.
For Windows 7
1. Select the [Start] menu > [Default Programs].
Or, select the [Start] menu > [Control Panel] > [Default Programs].
2. Select [Set program access and computer defaults].
The [Set program access and computer defaults] dialog box is displayed.
3. Select [Custom].
4. Select the e-mail application to use in [Choose a default e-mail program] and click [OK].
5. Close [Control Panel].
If the application to use is not displayed in step 4, close [Control Panel] and perform the following steps.
1. Select the [Start] menu > [Default Programs].
Or, select the [Start] menu > [Control Panel] > [Default Programs].
2. Select [Set your default programs].
3. Select the e-mail application to use in [Programs] and select [Set this program as default].
4. Click [OK].
5. Close [Control Panel].
For Windows 8/Windows 8.1/Windows 10
1. Select [Search] from the Charms (for Windows 8/Windows 8.1) or the [Start] menu > [Settings] (for Windows 10).
2. Enter "Default Programs" in the search box.
3. If [Default Programs] is displayed in the search result, click the [Default Programs] icon.
The [Default Programs] dialog box is displayed.
4. Select [Set your default programs].
The [Set Default Programs] dialog box is displayed.
5. Select the mail application to set as the default program in [Programs].
6. Select [Set this program as default] and click [OK].
7. Close the [Default Programs] dialog box.

Faxed PDF documents become faint.

If there is a problem with the result of faxing PDF documents, such as the result being faint or some lines are missing, the documents may be able to be faxed correctly by faxing them as images. Change the resolution according to the destination device.

If you have changed the security settings for a printer, restart Desktop Browser and Printer Monitor.
If the printer configuration is changed to include a printer which cannot be monitored, the status display by an output button in Desktop Browser becomes unavailable. When the printer configuration returns to a state which permits monitoring, you will be able to obtain the status again. This can be done by pointing to the printer icon with the mouse, etc.

The default settings of Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 8.1/Windows 10 restrict icons displayed on the Taskbar notification area. Follow the steps below to display the Printer Monitor and Document Monitor icons in the Taskbar notification area.
For Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 8.1
1. Select the [Start] menu (for Windows 7) or [Settings] from the Charms (for Windows 8 or Windows 8.1) > [Control Panel].
[Control Panel] is displayed.
2. Select [Small icons] in [View by].
All the Control Panel items are shown in [Control Panel].
3. Select [Notification Area Icons].
The [Notification Area Icons] window is displayed.
4. Select the [Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar] check box, and click [OK].
The [Notification Area Icons] window closes.
5. Close [Control Panel].
To change only the icon display settings of Printer Monitor and Document Monitor, change the following icon setting to [Show icon and notifications].

For Windows 10
1. Select the [Start] menu > [Settings].
The [Settings] screen is displayed.
2. Select [System].
3. Select [Select which icons appear on the taskbar] in the [Notifications & actions] menu.

[Always show all icons in the notification area] is set to [On].
5. Close the [Settings] screen.
Even if you change the following icon setting from [Off] to [On], the Printer Monitor and Document Monitor icons can be displayed in the notification area of the taskbar.

If a folder in a Document Server Library is being monitored by Document Monitor, the [Could not access this folder.] message is displayed.

In Document Server, the maximum number of users who can access a Document Server Library through Desktop or other means is controlled with CAL (Client Access License).
