Structure of Desktop
Structure of Desktop
Desktop is comprised of five modules (software) centered around Desktop Browser.
Desktop Browser
Desktop Browser manages documents as the main component of Desktop.
Desktop Browser manages documents imported from local computers, network drives, external file management servers, or external devices such as imageRUNNER ADVANCE by using libraries.
Its search function supports full-text searches in addition to searching for document names.
Desktop Browser comprehensively supports the importing, printing, and sending of documents.
Document Binder
Document Binder can put together document files that have been saved with various application programs into one binder document.
You can make a binder document from not only documents registered in the library but also those stored in the ordinary Windows Folder.
It also has functions for registering/managing complicated print settings as print templates and reducing document margins to save paper.
Object Layout Editor
Object Layout Editor enables you to edit documents even if you do not have the original application a document was created in.
It enables statements inside documents to be moved as blocks to change the document structure.
It also has a function for reducing document margins with settings more detailed than Document Binder to save paper.
Annotation Editor
Annotation Editor enables you to add annotations such as text and graphics to PDF documents and binder documents created using Document Binder.
Using digital stamps enables you to perform document authorization work.
Annotations created with Annotation Editor are compatible with Adobe Acrobat.
Variable Editor
Variable Editor can set variable fields for binder documents.
When variable fields are set, variable printing can be performed with Document Binder.
Module Transition
Desktop Browser is the gateway to Desktop. In addition, Document Binder can be the gateway for using the simple editing function. After installation, both of these modules are registered in the Start menu (Windows XP/Vista/7) or [Start] screen (Windows 8/Windows 8.1), and as icons on the desktop of Windows.
Each module is started as indicated below.
Desktop Browser: Can be started directly from the Start menu, [Start] screen, or the desktop icon.
Document Binder: Can be started directly from the Start menu, [Start] screen, or the desktop icon.
Object Layout Editor: Can be started from Document Binder. Document Binder cannot be used while the document opened in it is being edited in Object Layout Editor.
Annotation Editor: Can be started from Desktop Browser or Document Binder. Some functions are limited when Annotation Editor is started from Document Binder, and Document Binder cannot be used.
Variable Editor: Can be started from Document Binder. You cannot use Document Binder in which the source binder document being edited is opened while Variable Editor is running.
