Copying/Pasting a Selected Area as an Image

You can copy and paste a selected area as an image.

Using Rectangles to Select an Area to Copy

1.
Click  (Select Rectangle) on the Toolbar.
Or, select the [Edit] menu > [Select Area] > [Rectangle].
When the mouse cursor moves to the work pain, it is displayed as .
Note
If buttons are not displayed on the Annotation Editor Toolbar, set the buttons on the Toolbar. For more information, see the following.
To cancel the [Rectangle] mode, perform the following.
Click another button on the Object Palette Pane.
Press the [Esc] key on the keyboard.

Drag the mouse to select the area you want to copy as an image.
You can move and resize the selected area.
Note
Select the [Edit] menu > [Select All] to select the entire page.
To cancel a selected area, click somewhere outside the page area in the Work Pane or press the [Esc] key on the keyboard.

Click  (Copy) on the Toolbar.
Or, follow one of the steps described below.
Select the [Edit] menu > [Copy]
Right-click and select [Copy]
The selected area is copied as an image.
Note
If buttons are not displayed on the Annotation Editor Toolbar, set the buttons on the Toolbar. For more information, see the following.
The following annotations are not copied:
The note part of text notes
The note icon of text notes
The status icon of digital stamps
The resolution of copied images can be changed in [System Settings]. For more information, see the following.
4.
Click  (Paste) on the Toolbar.
Or, follow one of the steps described below.
Select [Image] from the menu displayed by clicking  (Paste Special) on the toolbar
Select the [Edit] menu > [Paste].
Right-click and select [Paste].
The copied image is pasted.

If buttons are not displayed on the Annotation Editor Toolbar, set the buttons on the Toolbar. For more information, see the following.
Areas copied as an image can also be pasted in another application. Images copied in other applications can also be pasted to Annotation Editor.

Using Polygons to Select an Area to Copy

1.
Click  (Select Polygon) on the Toolbar.
Or, select the [Edit] menu > [Select Area] > [Polygon].
When the mouse cursor moves to the Work Pane, it is displayed as .
Note
If buttons are not displayed on the Annotation Editor Toolbar, set the buttons on the Toolbar. For more information, see the following.
To cancel the [Polygon] mode, perform the following.
Click another button on the Object Palette Pane.
Press the [Esc] key on the keyboard.

Left-click in the Work Pane.
The position you clicked becomes the first vertex.
3.
Continue to create vertices around the area you want to copy.
Note
The vertices are joined with straight lines in blue.
You can press the [BACKSPACE] key on the keyboard to cancel a vertex you just made.
You can create vertices at 45 degree angles by left-clicking while holding down the [Shift] key on the keyboard.
4.
Left-click near the first vertex you created after creating three or more vertices.
Or, follow one of the steps described below.
Press the [Enter] key on the keyboard after creating three or more vertices.
Double-click the mouse when creating the final vertex after creating two or more vertices.
The polygon is created.
You can adjust the position of the polygon or the position of its vertices.
Note
Select the [Edit] menu > [Select All] to select the entire page with four vertices.
To cancel a selected area, click somewhere outside the page area in the Work Pane or press the [Esc] key on the keyboard.
To delete all the vertices you have created, change the page or press the [Esc] key on the keyboard.
5.
Click  (Copy) on the Toolbar.
Or, follow one of the steps described below.
Select the [Edit] menu > [Copy].
Right-click and select [Copy].
The area inside the polygon you created is copied as an image.
Note
If buttons are not displayed on the Annotation Editor Toolbar, set the buttons on the Toolbar. For more information, see the following.
The following annotations are not copied:
The note part of text notes

6.
