Using Digital Stamps

Annotation Editor enables you to attach digital stamps to binder documents or PDF documents.
When digital stamps are attached to e-documents, they can be approved instead of signing paper documents. Therefore, the approval processing is easily performed without printing the documents. You can also use the Desktop Browser folder output icon to circulate documents attached annotations or digital stamps between shared folders.
When you attach a digital stamp on a document currently displayed in Annotation Editor, a confirmation message appears asking whether you save the document by overwriting or under a different name. The document on which a digital stamp is attached must be saved in the library using either of these methods. When a signed digital stamp is attached, a digital document with a digital certificate can also be attached so that changes performed after the digital stamp is attached can be detected.
There are digital stamps with and without a signature.
By using a digital stamp with a signature, a digital certificate can be added to a document together with the digital stamp. The verification operation of the digital stamp can be performed.
Note
Desktop supports the following digital certificates.
Digital certificates issued with Windows Server 2003
Digital certificates issued with Windows Server 2008
Verisign digital certificates
For details on how to obtain a digital certificate, consult the system administrator.
You cannot edit the preset stamps that were automatically registered during installation. However, stamps that are duplicated from these stamps can be edited. Also, you can register new stamps.
