Saving Print Data
[Promote Print]
Prints the print job before other print jobs after the current print job is finished.
[Edit and Preview]
Combines multiple files into one when printing. You can also view a print preview and change the print settings. Clicking [Details] enables you to set the output method after Edit and Preview. If you select [Lock], [Output Method] is locked in [Edit and Preview] mode. This function is useful for restricting the output methods of clients in a shared printer environment.
Combining Multiple Files
[Lock] can only be set when the printer driver screen is displayed from the Start menu (see Changing the Default Settings).
[Page Size]
Enables you to select the paper size prepared by the application.
[Output Size]
Enables you to select the actual paper size to be printed on. If you select a size that differs from the [Page Size] setting, the document is automatically enlarged or reduced to fit the [Output Size] setting.
Scaling
If you have set multiple pages sizes in the application, the sizes will be printed to match the size selected in [Output Size]
If you select a page size larger than that supported by the printer for [Page Size], and select [Match Page Size] for [Output Size], A0, A1, and A2 sizes will be reduced to A3, while B1, B2, and B3 sizes will be reduced to B4.
[Copies]
Enables you to set the number of copies to be printed.
If you can set the number of copies in the application, set the number of copies in either the printer driver or the application.
[Orientation]
Enables you to select the print orientation with respect to the direction in which the page is fed through the printer.
[Page Layout]
Enables you to specify how many pages to print on each sheet of paper.
[1 on 1]
Prints one page of the document on sheet of paper.
[N on 1] (N = 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, or 16)
Prints multiple pages (N pages) of the document on each sheet of paper. Select the order in which the pages are printed from [Page Order].
[Page Order]
Select the order in which the pages are printed.
Reduced Size Layout
The document may not be printed correctly if collating is selected in the application when printing.
When [Orientation] - [Landscape] and [Page Layout] - [2 on 1] are used, [Top to Bottom/Left to Right]/[Top to Bottom/Right to Left] can be selected for [Page Order]. For documents that do not combine portrait and landscape pages, the print result does not change regardless of whether you select [Top to Bottom/Left to Right] or [Top to Bottom/Right to Left].
When printing a document that combines portrait and landscape pages with [Page Layout] - [2 on 1], it is recommended that you select [Output Method] - [Edit and Preview] to display the [Canon PageComposer] dialog box and check the print result in [Print Preview] (see Combining Multiple Files).
[Poster [1 x 2]]/[Poster [N x N]] (N = 2, 3, or 4)
Enables you to magnify the print data of one page and print it over multiple sheets (vertically x horizontally) of paper. When the printed sheets are joined together, they form a large print like a poster.
[Poster Printing] cannot be selected when [2-sided Printing] has been set. For details about switching between 2-sided printing and 1-sided printing, see 1-sided and 2-sided Printing.
Poster Printing
[Poster Details]
If you have selected [Page Layout] - [Poster [1 x 2]] or [Poster [N x N]] (N = 2, 3, or 4), you can configure detailed settings when printing a poster by displaying the [Poster Details] Dialog Box.
[Manual Scaling]
Enables you to specify an enlargement/reduction ratio for printing. Enter the ratio in [Scaling].
If scaling is possible in the application, set the required scaling in the application without setting the scaling in the printer driver.
[Use 1 on 1 for Single-Page Data]
When you set this item, if [N on 1] (N≥2) is set in [Page Layout], a single page document will be laid out as 1 on 1 when printed.
[1-sided/2-sided/Booklet Printing]
Enables you switch between 1-sided printing, 2-sided printing, and booklet printing. The printing methods that you can set differ from printer model to printer model.
The default setting for [1-sided/2-sided/Booklet Printing] for some printers that support 2-sided printing is [2-sided Printing]. For details about switching between 2-sided printing and 1-sided printing, see 1-sided and 2-sided Printing.
1-sided and 2-sided Printing
Booklet Printing
[Booklet]
In the [Detailed Settings for Booklet] Dialog Box, you can configure detailed settings such as gutter, displacement correction, etc.
Booklet Printing
[Saddle Stitch Settings]

Required options: Saddle finisher
[Binding Location]
Enables you to select the position of gutters. You can set the width of the gutter and image arrangement in [Gutter].
Booklet Printing
If you change [Orientation], [Binding Location] is changed to the left or top. The long edge/short edge positional relationship is maintained.
[Finishing]/[Staple/Collate/Group]/[Collate/Group]
When printing multiple copies, enables you to set the order of pages and whether to staple the pages.
[Off]
Follows the application setting.
[Collate]
Outputs the specified number of copies in page order.
[Group]
Outputs the specified number of copies with all pages having the same page number grouped together.
[Staple + Collate], [Staple & Collate], [Staple + Group], [Staple & Group], [Eco (Staple-Free) + Collate], [Eco (Staple-Free) + Group]
Outputs the pages in the order specified for [Collate] or [Group] stapled together. "Eco (Staple-Free)" is a method of fixing pages together without using staples, and can be used when a finisher that supports binding without staples is installed. Clicking [Staple Position] enables you to set the position of the staple(s).
Setting the Finishing Method
Normal stapling and staple-free binding cannot be used together.
If you change [Orientation], the staple position reverts to the default position. This is the upper left for single stapling and the left or top for double stapling.
If the staple position specified in [Staple Position] in the driver and [Binding Location] specified in the application do not match, the staple position is changed to the upper left.
[Color Mode]
Enables you to switch between color printing and grayscale (black and white) printing. Selecting [Auto [Color/B&W]] enables the printer to automatically detect whether each page should be printed in color or grayscale.
Switching Between Color and Grayscale
[Restore Defaults]
Returns all the settings to their standard (default) values.
[View Settings]
Enables you to check the current settings in a list.
