How to display the [Device Settings] tab:
Click [
] (Start) → [Devices and Printers].
The above is for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2.
For Windows 10: Click [Settings] → [Devices] → [Printers & scanners] → [Related settings] → [Devices and printers].
For Windows 8, 8.1, Server 2012 and Server 2012 R2: From the desktop, display the charm bar to the right of the screen, and click or tap [
Settings] → [Control Panel] → [Devices and Printers].
For Windows Vista and Server 2008: Click [
] (Start) → [Control Panel] → [Printers].
Right-click the icon of the printer you are using → click [Printer properties] (or [Properties]).
Click the [Device Settings] tab.
Descriptions of Settings
Printer Option Settings
([Paper Source Options], [Output Options], [Number of Drawers], [Document Insertion Unit]/[Insertion Unit], [Duplex Unit], [Hard Disk Installed], [3 Way Unit], [SD Card Installed], [Secure Watermark Function of Device]/[Secure Printing Function of Device])
You can set the options installed in the printer. Setting these options enables you to print using the corresponding functions. Clicking [Get Device Status] acquires printer information and automatically sets the options. If you cannot acquire the printer information, set the options manually.
[PS Output from Application]
Enables you to set whether an application sends PostScript code directly to the printer.
When you select [On], you may not be able to set the following functions.
[Basic Settings] or [Page Setup] tab → [Page Layout] → [N on 1] (other than 1, 2, and 4 on 1)
[Page Setup] tab → [Watermark]
[Basic Settings] or [Finishing] tab → [Booklet] → [Booklet Printing Process] → [With Driver Settings]
[Paper Source] tab → [Paper Selection]
The output results (appearance) for booklet printing and overlay printing differ when you select [Auto] or [Off] and when you select [On].

[Secure Watermark Function of Device]/[Secure Printing Function of Device]
Select this option when using the job lock extension kit. It embeds restriction and tracking information into the print data as a dot pattern, enabling you to suppress confidential document leaks. Clicking [Get Device Status] acquires printer information and automatically sets this option.
Required Conditions:
Select [Finishing] tab → [Advanced Settings] → [Secure Watermark Function of Device]/[Secure Printing Function of Device]
Enable the security print function of the printer
Functions that cannot be used with this function:
[Page Setup] tab → [Page Options] → [Overlay] tab → [Processing Method] → [Use Overlay Printing]
[Basic Settings] or [Finishing] tab → [Booklet] → [Booklet Printing Process] → [With Device Settings]
[Finishing] tab → [Advanced Settings] → [Copy Set Numbering]
[Finishing] tab → [Print Style] → [Perfect Binding [1-sided]]/[Perfect Binding [2-sided]]
[Quality] tab → [Advanced Settings] → [Toner Save]

[Use Department ID Management]
Enables printing management with department IDs and passwords. You can configure detailed setting by clicking [Settings] (
[Department ID/PIN Settings]/[Department ID/Password Settings] Dialog Box).
[Set User Information]
Enables you to set a user name for print data and a PIN (password) for secured printing. You can configure detailed setting by clicking [Settings] (
[User Information Settings] Dialog Box).
[Allow Use of Secured Print]
Enables [Secured Print] as an option for [Output Method].
[Specify Mail Box Number When Storing]/[Specify Inbox Number When Storing]/[Specify Box Number When Storing]
Select this option if you want to specify a data name and destination when saving print data.
[User Management]
When [Department ID Management] is selected: Sets details of department ID management in [Settings] ([Department ID/PIN Settings]/[Department ID/Password Settings] dialog box).
When [User Authentication] is selected: Sets details of user authentication in [Settings] ([User Authentication Settings] dialog box).
[Details]
In the
[Detailed Settings] Dialog Box ([Device Settings] Tab), you can configure detailed driver settings such as custom paper details, job names for print data, etc.
[Font Settings]
In the
[Font Settings] Dialog Box, you can select which printer fonts to substitute for TrueType fonts.
[Function]
In the
[Device Function Settings] Dialog Box, you can set [Controller Function ID], [Function Version], and [Loading from Insertion Unit [Sheets to Insert]].
[Paper Source Information]
[Add-in Information]
Displays information concerning add-in modules (expanded functions) added to the printer driver.
[PS Options]
In the
[PS Options] Dialog Box, you can configure the optional PS settings.
[Get Device Status]
Acquires information from the printer and applies it to the following settings.

[About]
Displays information about the printer driver version.
