Sending Data to a File Server
The following system requirements need to be met and the following operations and configurations need to be performed in order to send data to a file server from the machine.
System Requirements
The following network and system environments are compatible when sending data from the machine to a file server, depending on the type of network used:
When using FTP
Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 and Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0

TCP/IP Network Settings
You can send data over a TCP/IP network to any of the following:
FTP server (Windows Server 2003/Server 2008/Vista/7/Server 2008 R2/8/Server 2012, UNIX, Linux)
WebDAV server (Windows Server 2003/Server 2008/Vista/7/Server 2008 R2/8/Server 2012, UNIX, Linux)
Windows sharedfolder (Windows Server 2003/Server 2008/Vista/7/Server 2008 R2/8/Server 2012)
Samba shared folder (UNIX/Linux)
This section describes how to set up a computer as an FTP/WebDAV server.

Samba 2.2.8a or later is supported. This section describes only the procedures for setting up a computer receiving data sent from the machine. To send data from the machine to a server on the network, you must enter an address setting from the control panel. For instructions on specifying recipient address settings, see "Specifying Destinations."The following procedure explains a sample FTP/WebDAV server setup. Connecting to an SMB/CIFS Network and Configuring a Shared Folder
You can send data over an SMB/CIFS network to any of the following:
Windows shared folder
Samba shared folder (UNIX/Linux)
This section describes how to configure a shared folder.

Samba 2.2.8a or later is supported. This section describes only the procedures for setting up a computer receiving data sent from the machine.
