Sending Faxes from a Computer (PC Faxing)

You can send documents as faxes from a computer by using a fax driver.

Required Preparations
Install the fax driver on the computer, and configure the settings according to your usage environment and purpose. Preparing to Send Faxes from a Computer

When Using Windows

On your computer, open the document to be sent.

From the menu in the application used to open the document, select the print command.

Select the fax driver of the machine, and click [Print].
The [Fax Sending Settings] screen of the fax driver is displayed.

Specify the destination.
This section describes how to enter a fax number as an example. You can specify a destination registered in the Address Book from the [Select Destination] tab.
If an external line number is required, add it before the fax number. If the outside dialing prefix has been set in advance, you do not need to enter it here. Step 3: Enhancing Security for Sending Faxes

Configure the cover sheet, TX log storage settings, and other fax settings, as needed.
Click [Cover Sheet] and configure the cover sheet details.
To save the TX log to the computer, select the [Store Sent Fax Information and Image] checkbox.
For details on the other fax settings, click [Help] on the [Fax Sending Settings] screen to display help.

Click [Send].
A screen for confirming the send destination is displayed.

Check that the destination is correct, and click [OK].
The fax is sent via the machine.
You can cancel sending the fax in the same way that you cancel printing, by using the printing screen or the printer icon in the Windows notification area. Canceling Printing from a Computer

When you send a fax with the [Store Sent Fax Information and Image] checkbox selected, you can also check the log from the [Sent Fax Information and Image] tab of the fax driver.
If the [Confirm User Name/Password] Screen Appears
Check that the user name and password are correct, and click [OK].
If the [Confirm Department ID/PIN] Screen Appears
Check that the Department ID and PIN are correct, and click [OK].

When Using macOS

On your computer, open the document to be sent.

From the menu in the application used to open the document, click [Print].
The printing dialog box is displayed.

In [Printer], select the fax driver of the machine.

Click [Printer Options] [General Settings].

Click [Add Destination], enter the fax number, click [Add], and click [OK].
To specify multiple destinations, repeat this step. You can specify a destination registered in the Address Book from [Address Book].
If an external line number is required, add it before the fax number.

Configure the cover sheet and other fax settings, as needed.
To configure the cover sheet details, select [Printer Options]  [Cover Sheet].

Click [Print].
The fax is sent via the machine.
