imagePASS Connection Restrictions and Precautions

When imagePASS is connected to the machine, some functions are restricted or unavailable. In addition, precautions are required when using Advanced Space and Remote UI.

Print Function Restrictions

imagePASS cannot be used at the same time as the following print function:
The standard print function on the machine
PS Printer Kit 

Other Restrictions

Reception always times out in five minutes regardless of the reception timeout setting on the machine.
The IP address is not printed even when the user information is specified to be printed. Adding User Information (Forced Print of Recognition Information)
The machine must be restarted after performing DNS Dynamic Update.
The address of the SIP server cannot be acquired automatically using DHCP.
The machine does not enter sleep status to enable immediate response to inquiries via the network.

Precautions When Using Advanced Space

When imagePASS Is Connected to the Machine

Advanced Space cannot be opened as an SMB server. To open externally, open as a WebDAV server. Preparations for Using Advanced Space
To configure the settings to send an e-mail notification when a file is stored to Advanced Space, specify the path to the target folder while including the port number (when TLS is disabled: 18080, when TLS is enabled: 18443) as shown below. Sending Notification by E-mail When a File Is Saved
When TLS is disabled

When TLS is enabled

Example: When specifying a Shared Space [documents] folder with TLS enabled

When using a proxy to send data to Advanced Space via [Scan and Send] on the [Home] screen, the data may not be sent even if a loopback address is specified for the destination. In this case, specify the IP address of imagePASS for the destination. Specifying Destinations

When Connecting to Advanced Space on Another Device Connected to imagePASS

When sending or saving data to Advanced Space on another device connected to imagePASS, specify the destination and connection destination using the following procedure:
In [Protocol], select [WebDAV].
In [Host Name], specify an IP address or host name including the port number as shown below (when TLS is disabled: 18080, when TLS is enabled: 18443).
When TLS is disabled
http://<IP address or host name>:18080
When TLS is enabled
http://<IP address or host name>:18443

Precautions When Using Remote UI

On the control panel, configure the [Network Settings] item in the [Print Server] screen in advance.
To start Remote UI, enter the following URL in a Web browser on a computer.
http://<IP address of imagePASS>/
Click [Launch Remote UI] on the displayed WebTools screen to start Remote UI.
