Administrator Privileges and Password

To edit important settings of the machine, you must log in as an administrator with administrator privileges. Logging In to the Machine
Types of Administrator Privileges
By assigning administrator privileges to users according to their responsibilities, you can divide up a wide range of machine management tasks when operating the machine.
Administrator
Allowed to change all machine settings.
NetworkAdmin
Allowed to change network-related settings.
DeviceAdmin
Allowed to change settings related to basic functions such as printing, scanning, faxing, and copying, as well as settings related to device information.

By default, the following administrator is registered with Administrator privileges:
User name
Administrator
Password

To reduce the risk of information leaks and unauthorized use, make sure to use either of the following methods.
When using an administrator with the user name “Administrator”
To protect your information, change the default password for the user name “Administrator” so that only specific administrators know the new password.
When using an administrator with an arbitrary user name
Register a new administrator with Administrator privileges, and disable the default "Administrator" user. To protect your information, make sure that only specific administrators know the information of the newly registered administrator.

If You Forget the Password of an Administrator with Administrator Privileges
On the control panel, use the following procedure to initialize the “Administrator” password.
Press [] [Device Info./Other] [Initialize Admin. Password] enter the license key  press [Start] [OK]
If the default “Administrator” has been disabled, it is enabled to allow log in with the default password.
