Registering Distribution Destinations of the Device Information (Host Machine)
When the machine is used as the host machine, register the client machines to be the distribution destinations of the device information.
Use the control panel to register the distribution destinations of the device information. You cannot register them using Remote UI from a computer.
Administrator privileges are required.
Required Preparations
If you are using automatic search to find and register the destinations, check that the destinations (client machines) are able to perform SLP communication.

Log in to the machine as an administrator.

On the control panel, press [
Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen.

Press [Management Settings]
[Device Management]
[Device Information Distribution Settings].
The [Device Information Distribution Settings] screen is displayed.

Press [Register Destinations] in [Transmitting Settings].
The [Register Destinations] screen is displayed.

Register the client machines to be the distribution destinations.
To Use Automatic Search to Find and Register the Machines

Press [Auto Search/Register].
The [Auto Search/Register] screen is displayed.

In [Search Depth (Router)], specify the network range to be searched.
Enter the router hop count (number of routers the data passes through) for the destination search. If the search does not pass through any routers, specify [1].

Press [Start Auto Search].
The multifunction machines found in the search are displayed in the list of destinations.

In the list of destinations, select the checkboxes of the multifunction machines to be set as destinations.
Press [Display Host Name] to display the host names for the multifunction machines shown in the list.

Press [OK].
The registered distribution destinations are added to the list of destinations on the [Register Destinations] screen.
To Register Manually
If automatic search cannot be performed to find the distribution destinations (multifunction machines), enter the IP address or host name to register each machine manually.

Press [Register].

Enter the IP address or host name of the multifunction machine to be the distribution destination.
When entering the host name, enter the whole address including the domain name and subdomain name.
Input example:
device1.example.com

Press [OK].
The registered distribution destinations are added to the list of destinations on the [Register Destinations] screen.

Press [OK]

NOTE
If the Message [Could not retrieve the device information details. Do you want to register the device as a destination?] Appears
The above message appears when one of the following conditions is met.
The specified client machine cannot be connected.
If you press [Yes], the machine can be registered as the distribution destination, but the device information will not be distributed to the client machine until the connection is established or the setting is changed to receive the information.
Checking the Information of the Registered Client Machines
Select the client machines on the [Register Destinations] screen and press [Details] to check the detailed information of the client machines.
Press [Print List] on the [Register Destinations] screen to print the list of the client machines.
