Protecting the Security Policy Settings with a Password

Set a password for the security policy settings in advance, so that only information security personnel who know the password can configure the security policy.
* You must also perform authentication using the password set here when initializing the settings of the machine. Initializing the Settings and Data
 
Use Remote UI from a computer to set the password. You cannot use the control panel to set the password.
Administrator privileges are required.

Log in to Remote UI as an administrator. Starting Remote UI

On the Portal page of Remote UI, click [Settings/Registration]. Remote UI Portal Page

Click [Security Settings] [Security Policy Settings]  [Password Settings].
The [Password Settings] screen is displayed.

Enter a password.
Enter the same password in [New Password] and [Confirm].
Use alphanumeric characters and symbols to enter the password.
If restrictions on the input characters are set in [Password Settings Policy], enter a password that complies with the password policy. [Authentication]

Click [OK] [OK].
The password is set.

Log out from Remote UI.
IMPORTANT
Carefully manage the password you set so that you do not forget it. If you forget the password, contact your dealer or service representative.
NOTE
Changing the Set Password
On the [Password Settings] screen, enter the current password in [Current Password], and enter the new password in both [New Password] and [Confirm].
When Clearing the Password
On the [Password Settings] screen, enter only the current password in [Current Password], and leave [New Password] and [Confirm] blank.
