You can initialize the settings and registered data to reset the machine to the factory settings. You can initialize specified settings and data only or initialize all settings and data.
Initializing Specific Settings and Data
You can individually initialize the administrator password, default settings of various functions, the machine storage space settings and data, and other information.
You can reset all settings to the factory settings, and clear all stored data including logs. Initialization is performed to prevent access to confidential information and unauthorized use such as when replacing or disposing of the machine.
Use the control panel to initialize all settings and data. You cannot initialize these using Remote UI from a computer. Administrator privileges are required. When these are initialized, the machine restarts automatically.
Required Preparations
Check that there is no data being processed or waiting to be processed.
Back up the following settings and data, as needed.
All settings and data are initialized. When the initialization is complete, the machine restarts automatically and "all data and settings initialization report" is printed.
NOTE
When all the settings and data are initialized, the job log information will be deleted, but the print result of the "all data and settings initialization report" will remain in the log. Viewing the Print Job Status and Log
