Initializing the Settings and Data

You can initialize the settings and registered data to reset the machine to the factory settings. You can initialize specified settings and data only or initialize all settings and data.
Initializing Specific Settings and Data
You can individually initialize the administrator password, default settings of various functions, the machine storage space settings and data, and other information.
Initializing All Settings and Data
You can reset all settings to the factory settings, and clear all stored data including logs. Initialization is performed to prevent access to confidential information and unauthorized use such as when replacing or disposing of the machine.

Initializing Specific Settings and Data

You can initialize the following items individually:
Administrator Password
Initialize the "Administrator" password. Administrator Privileges and Password
Default Setting of Each Function
You can reset the default settings of the following functions when they are called up using the control panel to the factory default settings.
Scan and Send [Change Default Settings]
Scan and Store [Change Default Settings]
Fax [Change Default Settings]
Copy [Change Default Settings]
Access Stored Files (print settings) [Change Default Settings]
Printer Function Settings
Initialize the printer function settings. [Initialize]
Delete downloaded fonts and delete print data in which errors occurred during processing. [Utility]
Machine Storage Space Settings and Data
Initialize the Mail Box settings. [Set/Register Mail Boxes]
Delete all folders and files saved in Advanced Box Shared Space. [Initialize Shared Space]
Initialize the Confidential Fax Inbox settings. [Set/Register Confidential Fax Inboxes]
Secure Watermark Contrast
Initialize the density balance (contrast) of the Secure Watermark and background. [Adjust Background/Character Contrast]
Default Settings of the LDAP Server Search Conditions
Reset the default settings of the LDAP server search conditions to the factory default settings. [Change Default LDAP Search Conditions]

Initializing All Settings and Data

You can delete all data left in the storage.
 
Use the control panel to initialize all settings and data. You cannot initialize these using Remote UI from a computer.
Administrator privileges are required. When these are initialized, the machine restarts automatically.
Required Preparations
Check that there is no data being processed or waiting to be processed.
Back up the following settings and data, as needed.
Data saved in the storage space of the machine Backing Up and Restoring Data
User information registered on the machine Exporting User Information
MEAP application license files Managing the License Files

IMPORTANT
Any data being processed or waiting to be processed is deleted when the initialization is performed.
The initialization may take more than 30 minutes.
You cannot operate the machine while the initialization is in progress.
Do not turn OFF the machine until the initialization is complete. Otherwise, the memory on the machine may fail.

Log in to the machine as an administrator. Logging In to the Machine

On the control panel, press [ Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen. [Home] Screen
The [Settings/Registration] screen is displayed.

Press [Management Settings] [Data Management] [Initialize All Data/Settings].
A screen for confirming the initialization is displayed.

Press [Yes].
All settings and data are initialized.
When the initialization is complete, the machine restarts automatically and "all data and settings initialization report" is printed.
NOTE
When all the settings and data are initialized, the job log information will be deleted, but the print result of the "all data and settings initialization report" will remain in the log. Viewing the Print Job Status and Log
