Restricting Fax Sending and Confirming the Destination
You can prohibit fax sending from a computer (PC faxing) and fax sending to multiple destinations (sequential broadcast) and display a confirmation screen for the fax number before sending to prevent information leakage via fax.
Prohibiting Fax Sending from a Computer
You can prohibit users from sending a fax from a fax driver, thereby disabling PC faxing.
This section describes how to configure the settings using Remote UI from a computer.
On the control panel, select [
Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen, and then select [Function Settings] to configure the settings.
[Allow Fax Driver TX]Administrator or DeviceAdmin privileges are required.

Log in to Remote UI as an administrator.

On the Portal page of Remote UI, click [Settings/Registration].

[Allow Fax Driver TX].
The [Allow Fax Driver TX] screen is displayed.

Clear the [Allow Fax Driver TX] checkbox.

The settings are applied.

Prohibiting Fax Sending to Multiple Destinations
You can prohibit users from sending to multiple destinations (sequential broadcast) when a fax destination is specified.
* Faxes can be sent to multiple destinations when a group is specified.

Checking the Fax Number Before Sending
You can configure the settings to display a screen confirming the destination before a fax is sent. Confirm that there are no mistakes in the specified destination and entered information to prevent sending by mistake.
Choosing When to Display the Confirmation Screen
When sending a fax
When you specify a fax destination and send the fax, a screen for confirming the destination is displayed. Set whether to display this only when a fax is sent to multiple destinations (sequential broadcast) or every time a fax is sent.
* The confirmation screen is not displayed when you specify a group, even if the group includes fax destinations.
When entering a fax number using the numeric keys
A screen for re-entering the number is displayed when you enter a fax number.

On the control panel, select [
Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen, and then select [Function Settings] to configure the settings.
[Fax Settings]Administrator privileges are required. Users with DeviceAdmin privileges can only configure the setting to display the screen for confirming the entered fax number.

To Display the Screen When Sending Faxes

The [TX Settings - Fax Settings] screen is displayed.

Select the [Confirm Before Sending When Fax Destination Included] checkbox, and select the item to display.
When sequential broadcast is prohibited, you cannot select the item to display.

Click [Confirm Entered Fax Number].
The [Confirm Entered Fax Number] screen is displayed.

NOTE
If only one number is entered for a destination when the settings are configured to display confirmation screens both when sending a fax and when entering a number, only the screen for re-entering the number is displayed, and the confirmation screen for sending is not displayed.
