Set whether to automatically detect the characters and line orientation of the original when you generate a "searchable PDF" in which the characters of the original can be searched as text. When you extract characters from the original to use for the file name, you can set how many characters to extract, starting from the first character.
When you set [Smart Scan] to [On], the generated PDF will be displayed in the correct orientation when viewed on a computer or other device.

Set whether to also trace and smooth the line drawings contained in the original, when the scanned data is in PDF (Trace & Smooth) format.
You can also set the recognition level and the image quality of the background image to use when trace and smooth is performed. The data size increases when you increase the recognition level. It is recommended that you first set the recognition level to [Normal]. If the desired results are not obtained, try increasing the recognition level to [Moderate], and then to [High].

When you optimize PDF files for web display, you can view the downloaded pages of the PDF file in a web browser even while the file is being downloaded.

Configure the server information when the machine links with Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management.
When the machine is linked with Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management, you can generate PDF files that have viewing and other privileges managed.
Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management ES series software is required in order to use this setting. For details, contact your dealer or service representative. In addition, the Rights Management server and this machine need to be connected via an intranet or the Internet.
