Starting the External Application

You can edit document selected in the Desktop Browser screen in an external application.
Note
In order to edit documents from an application output icon, the external application must be registered in the Output Bar in advance. For more information on how to register an external application in the Output Bar, see the following.
In addition, refer to the following as necessary.
1.
Select a document to edit in the File List View Pane and click (application output icon).
Or, drag and drop the document onto (application output icon).
The external application associated with the application output icon is launched, and the document is opened.
Note
The external application is started even if you click (application output icon) without selecting a file.
You can select multiple documents, or a folder in the Navigation Pane.
When you open a document in a Document Server Library or SharePoint Server Library, a message is displayed to confirm whether or not to check it out. In this case, click [Yes].
You can set the check out message to not display. For more information, see the following.
When you open a PDF document with a password using an external application registered in the application output icons, the password input screen is always displayed to confirm whether there is any annotation data or not. If the external application is an application for displaying or editing PDF documents, you may be asked for the password again in the application.
Highlighting is removed from highlighted, unread documents in a monitored folder.
